Compression Stockings: Advice?

Question:
I have tested strongly positive for Neurally Mediated Hypotension, and am currently taking various pills (salt, mitidrine, florinef) to help get it under control. My cardiologist has just given me a prescription for custom-fitted compression stockings. 1. Has anyone else tried them, and to what result? 2. Do you recommend getting the knee-high or the panty-hose version?

Answer: -Now I know its odd, a man suggesting pantyhose but let me explain before the wrong conclusions are drawn. I had to have an operation a few months ago and as a result ended up having to wear support stockings whilst I was laid up. The reason I was given was that it helped stop problems caused by having to lay still for long periods while I healed. As I was only laid up for 24 hours I do think they were having a little laugh at my expense but the theory was good. The point is that, after checking it I, I found out that full leg support is much better for your legs and circulation ( I think ) . All that for one little point, I hope it is of help. -I've been wearing compression stockings when I know I'll have to stand (shopping, etc.) and they do help me. I like the thigh-high ones the best. I found a great web site that carries all the major brands as well as their own brand at much better prices - supportshop.com. (No affiliation, etc.)
