Question: My problem is acne-scars and damaged skin around nose. I have spider-veins as they are called around nose. And big pores that comes of a oily skin. So Im very unhappy because I HAVE tried so many expensive product so now my final solution would be cosmetic surgery. So Im wondering if anybody out there has had the same problems and found the help needed? Please tell me, this is important! Ive done some research about Ultra-pulse and its seems to be what Im looking for, so if anyone has tried this method please anwer to this
Answer: The reason you have to wait is that accutane turns off the pilosebaceous units of the skin. These units moisturize the skin & are the source for new skin surface cells after CO2 or Erbium laser treatments of the skin surface. The highest number of these units per unit area is in the face with marked diminishing in the density of these units on the neck & other areas. If there is an insufficient density of these units or insufficient density of working units healing takes longer & the risk of bad scarring goes way up. Hence: 1-wait a year or more after accutane use to allow these units to recover & make laser treatment safe 2-don't have any laser treatments of the neck, some people have sufficient density of units in the neck to heal but a significant number of people are born with an insufficient density. you can't differentiate between these 2 groups before treating with laser & getting bad scarring.
