Spider vein treatment/prevention?

Question:
Have noticed the beginnings of spider veins on my thighs-- anyone had any luck with creams/supplements or are saline shots/laser treatment the only way to go? How much does the latter cost?

Answer: -My dermatologist said he'd recommend the laser treatment for spider & varicose veins. The reason being is that you may need to get repeat treatments of the saline if it doesn't get rid of the veins whereas the laser treatment get rid of them right away. Also, it's hard for the doctor to find the spider vein for saline treatment whereas the laser treatment is much more accurate and less painful. -Did anyone see Leeza (talk show) when Hunter Tylo from Bold and the Beautiful was on, and had her doctor on- they showed him live using laser to get rid of her spider veins, so you literally got to see how quickly it gets rid of them. Don't know how much they cost though. -My mother had the laser treatment for spider veins on her face, and it truly worked wonders. She doesn't even have to wear foundation any more, she was so self-conscious before. There was definitely a few weeks healing time, her skin peeled, but once the healing process was done, her face looked great. I think the cost was in the area of $700 or so (SF Bay Area), but if you want a more accurate price, email me and I'll find out. -My dermatologist told me the opposite. That there is higher chance of recurrence with saline injections. I had some spider veins on my ankles that he said I should have laser treatment and unfortunately he didn't have the laser technology in his office. He did give me saline injection for a varicose vein in my thigh that I had had since I was 16. It didn't completely eliminate it but it's not as noticeable. I will be using the laser treatment this summer for spider veins on my ankles.
