Question:
I have protruding hemorrhoids and have had them for about a year. I have tried for a few months to have more fiber in my diet and also have tried yarrow, and applied witch hazel. I still get flare ups...very uncomfortable. Any ideas how to get rid of these once and for all?

I promis I am not trying to sell anything as I am not commercial, but my hemoroid remedy sounds so unusual that I get a little red faced telling about it. -A colleague of mine originally from Bulgaria told me how she got rid of hers: Take the green stem tops off 10 eggplants and bake them 'til they are dry enough to powder, add honey and lemon juice (she didn't specify quantities) make a paste apply to hemorrhoids daily for 1 week, she claims hers are gone. My professional opinion is this: hemorrhoids are varicose veins located in the rectum, to avoid flare-ups you have to avoid constipation, keep in mind however that too much fiber with not enough water exacerbates constipation. If you can't get relief and the flareups are frequent nothing short of having them surgically removed will help.
