Jobst Compression Stockings, example???

Question:
Back on to the topic of swollen ankles, My Friend The Physician, herself an overweight middle-aged woman who does a lot of gardening in what spare time she has, told me last night that she has just discovered the virtues of compression stockings. She bought some pricey brand whose name I forget but whose price, $40, certainly got my attention, and has been washing them out every night. No more aching legs and ankles she says.

Answer: -Jobst? Try a search, there are some sources on-line. -Since they are compression it is better to have the full length pantyhose type, not to cut off circulation at a specific point. Also, it is much easier to put the heavy compression pantyhose on using an inexpensive ribbed kitchen glove (those yellow kind for washing dishes etc). If you roll the stocking on using the glove to work them up to your thigh and hips they will last longer, go on better and not get holes as fast. In our area the best buy on the Jobst compression stockings is Kaiser Permanente Health Store. Under $40 for heavy compression and also come in a nice black color for wearing with dressy outfits. For the hips and knees which bothered my Mom too, she got Nike or New Balance Air tennis shoes. They looked funky and always got a comment or two, but she didn't have the knee and hip problems from her daily walks, as the air cushioned the impact.
