Question: Red spots after acne are NOT scars thank god they are NOT.YOu may also want to stop using the cocoa butter since it's comedogenic and does nothing for blemishes or varicose veins.Only thing that can heal these red spots are time .. maybe getting a 6treat course of glycolic peels... or if they really bother you try silk touch c02 laser ... although that is a waste of money because these spots will go away. I know time sucks and waiting for them to go away can seem like forever but they WILL go away!
Answer: Isn't silk touch Co2 laser only for light resurfacing of scars? Those red spots from previous acne are as a result of broken or damaged capillaries underneath your skin. If if it's just red and not dented then you don't need Co2, which by the way is very harsh and the healing time is excruciatingly long. Yes those spots will fade over time but healing time can be a year to 3 or 4 or even longer, it varies among individuals. There is something you can do about them though. You can try the pulsedye laser, it's a yellow light laser which is very "mild". It targets only the color red, it is used to burn up blood and broken blood vessels. A pulse dye laser treatment costs about 200-300 bucks, you don't need anesthesia, and you get purplish bruising for a week. It's not 100% but it has been very successful in the treatment of red spots. If you want the treatment bear in mind that it is cosmetic so your insurance will not cover it. Any laser surgery clinic should carry the pulse dye laser, look for the Photogenica V type because it is the newest one and the healing time/effectiveness of it is better. Hope this is helpful.
