"Naturist" question ???

Question:
I am looking to buy some supplements/natural remedies for a couple of relatives/friends in my country, for different afflictions, especially eye-troubles and quite severe varicose veins. The latter is for a seventy-three old person, unfortunately quite obese and with the veins in a rather advanced stage of sufference. (I just want to make clear that this is not about a young woman who has "aesthetical" troubles with varicose veins, it is a serious condition.) Both persons *are* consulting doctors and having "mainstream" medical treatment, so nobody expects miracles, only some really useful adjacent alternative remedies. There's a webjungle of retailers out there. Among different sites I've visited, my attention has been caught by herbalremedies.com and a couple of others. Please advise as to whether there is any reliable website that offers information on the degree to which this and other webvendors are "approved" (or at least controlled, "confirmed" by an independent party, to an extent). I understand that herbal remedies and other "alternative" remedies are somewhat controversial and I personally am half-way between skeptical (I doubt herbs or other natural remedies would perform quick miracles) and convinced (that an honest supplementary treatment *can* help in earnestness).

Answer: Since both patients are being treated by doctors, the following information is for educational purposes only. Always consult your doctor. A supplement for the eyes : Ocuguard Plus with Lutein by Twinlab. A supplement for leg veins: Leg Veins/Tru-OPCs 500mg. by Nature's Way. These are available at www.vitaminshoppe.com With your doctor's approval, many supplements have been used as an adjuvant therapy.
