Question: It's Nan in Houston. I can't remember (due to migraines or meds) if I told you guys about this "thing" on my heart. It was found in January when I was in the hospital for the lovely DHE-45 treatment. The Dr. tried to run a main line into my heart because I have spider veins and the DHE kept blowing all my veins. They were trying to insert needles into my elbows. During the insertion of the central line, it kept going up into my throat instead of down into my arteries. So they did a CAT and found a "mass" or "thing" on my left lung, major aorta and the left side of my heart. Ive been on synthroid for 10 years and the Dr immediately took me off of it because he suspected it might be endocrine tissue. I've had to go in every week for a thyroid blood test and it kept coming back normal! I finally told the Dr that my nerves were shattering, I mean, it has been 8 weeks. So he finally decided to do a radio-isotope test this week. I go in Tues for my first bolis of radio active material at 9AM then another one at 2PM. Then I go back Wed morning at 9AM for the last bolis of radio active stuff. Then they will run some sort of X-ray or scan. The reason why I'm telling you guys is because I'm so afraid that the Dr's will want to do surgery :o Either open chest or under my arm between the ribs. I hoping for under the arm. What I'm really hoping for is for them to tell me "Oh, it's just a lump of fat, go home you're fine. I just keep praying that the light at the end of the tunnel is not the on coming train. Thanks for listening guys. I'm home by myself and just had to talk to someone.
Answer: -So sorry for what you're going through. Am praying that you'll have some peace of mind for all those treatments you're going to have. However, I just know you're going to be all right. Hang in there and have faith that this too shall pass. -Hang in there Nan, at least you're getting them to look at it. It's better to find out what is going on and take care of it. We're here to help you with anything you need, and our shoulders are plenty big.
