Symptoms Of Varicose Veins, important???

Question:
It looks as if there are some other women here who have few pregnancy symptoms. I'm about 12 weeks along with my first pregnancy, and the only symptoms I've ever had, even when I saw the heart beating on the ultrasound monitor at six weeks, are mildly blue veins in my breasts, a few weeks of tender breasts, weight gain, a little nausea, and one bout of vomiting when I took a regular multivitamin instead of the prenatal vitamin. Now, the little bit of nausea is gone, so the only decent sign I have that I'm still pregnant is that I got sick again when I experimented with taking a multivitamin. But I haven't had any spotting or bad cramping, so I don't have any good reason to think anything has gone wrong. The ob/gyn didn't do anything to check whether the baby was there at my 10-week visit. She just checked my blood pressure and went over prenatal test results. The next prenatal visit isn't for a little more than two weeks. I have a really insane urge to go rent a BabyBeat ultrasound monitor and have it shipped overnight. Anyhow, if other women are in/have been in the same boat: do you call your ob/gyn, and does that do any good? do you rent the fetal ultrasound monitor and run the risk of scaring it with ultrasound pings? Do you meditate a lot? Do you give up on the Best Odds Diet and gulp down half a carton of Ben & Jerry's? Or, is there some list somewhere of BabyBeat doppler hobbyists who will doppler neurotic women for free, or less than the price of renting the doppler?

Answer: -It's a hard stage to be at when you're talking worry. i had had 2 early m/c in previous pregnancies (5wks & 6.5 wks) & at about 12 weeks in this healthy pregnancy, the yukky symptoms disappeared. although i was grateful that i didn't feel hungover anymore all day, the nausea had been a sign that everything was going to plan. But you just have to relax & trust that everything is going fine as it more than likely is. you are almost at that 12 week hurdle & from then on, the risk factor drops dramatically. such a small percentage of pregnancies have major problems. At 18 weeks, i had my ultrasound & found that my worry had been for nothing as my baby was right on target for everything. this is what most people find. at your next visit, explain to your care provider your fears & ask if they can check the heartbeat for you. But i think this is something we all go through - the start of a lifetime of worry for our babies! Personally, i wouldn't get the doppler. I think ultrasound is a good thing occasionally during pregnancy, but when you have it at home & you constantly use it, I think it can't be too good for the baby. -a) Thanks for the all replies! They've really helped me get over the craving for the doppler heart monitor. b) It's really weird being in the position of cheering for nausea. But now I'm having a little more nausea, and I think I'm getting varicose veins in one of my calves!!!!! Hopefully, I'll get a lot more big, beautiful, blue varicose veins to help calm me down.
