Question: A few weeks/months ago I was moaning about my aching painful legs.... well I have a "wunnerful set" of varicose veins on my left leg which are giving me jip of the finest right now. They are not bad enough to do anything with surgically I am told ( how bad do they have to be!!) but apart from wearing eleasticated tights what else can I try.... I have been bathing them in cool water to try and ease the aches, sit with them raised up, even laid down with the legs propped up the wall to see if that will help.... but so far nothing really seems to help them. It's a git when you can't walk that well anyway but then to have these pains makes me feel like chopping the offending leg off ( no joke either.... I mean it). So what do other Varicose Vein "supporters" use?
Answer: -No words of wisdom from me I'm afraid - I haven't experienced varicose veins so far. Sorry to hear you have another pain to blight things for you. -When my legs are driving me nuts I found this to work. Had it done as part of my massage on board ship. They use a brush meant for the purpose [if desperate use your hair brush]. Start at your ankles and softly brush your legs from the ankle up to the knee cap all around. Do the other leg; then start at the knee cap and brush the upper leg all around on both legs. This is suppose to start the circulation cooking in your legs. It always makes me tingly. I might retouch the VV part after I finished both legs completely and then go get back into bed. The tingling stops my leg jerks and will allow me to drift off. Don't know if that will help you any but it sure can't hurt. I found I pee alot more in the mornings when I have done that. Something must be moving fluid around -- that can't hurt either.
